Weekly Update: 10 May 2013

Hey guys. This week was pretty much a boring week.

So at the start of this week, I sat for my language papers for my mid year exams.  English was on Monday and my second language was on Tuesday. The papers were okay, although I was pretty nervous for my English papers which consisted of Paper 1 which is basically composition, and Paper 2 which is has 2 comprehension passages. I was mainly nervous for Paper 2 as MOE changed the syllabus for comprehension and I didn't really like the new format. I was also kinda nervous for Paper 1 because the night before the paper my classmates were panicking and asking our English teacher tons of questions on the different structures and formats for formal writing, informal writing, speeches and reports, which eventually didn't come out. lols. I was nervous as I had forgotten the formats and stuff :( BUT YAY IT DIDN'T COME OUT ANYWAYS :D

I was super tired for the rest of the week. On Wednesday we had our 2.4km run during PE, which also contributed to me feeling exhausted throughout the rest of the week. On Thursday morning, I was so exhausted I really couldn't get out of bed. Obviously, I eventually did, but I decided to skip my afternoon classes, as I couldn't even concentrate during my morning classes. This pissed off my mum, as I used to have a habit of skipping afternoon classes. haha. But she is okay with me now. yayerz.

Anyways, I picked this up on the way home today. It's Garnier Pure Active Fruit Energy Daily Energising Gel Scrub. It was original about $15, but it was on offer at $11.90. I needed a scrub as I have been using a cleanser and felt that I needed to deeply exfoliate my face so yeah. I'm trying not to spend unnecessarily and stick to my saving plans as I'm saving up for bigger things in the future. However, there are some items that I hope to get as soon as possible (in no order of priority)

  • Victoria's Secret Body Mist. I would like to go back to the store to test the scents again but so far I'm loving Strawberries and Champagne. :)
  • Soap & Glory Flake Away
  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter
  • And any other products I run out off and need to repurchase
The main thing I'm looking forward to purchasing at the end of year is Coach Poppy EDP. And I'm hoping to purchase Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh EDT next Spring or Summer. :) So I need to start saving up whatever loose change I find lying around.

Anyways, here are some pictures of the Garnier thing

A Day Out :) 4 May 2013

Hey guys!
So I decided I needed a little time off of school work and revision so I decided to spend the day out! :)
I tried my best at tweeting while I was out. I'm just gonna tell you guys some things I did while I was out plus a haul!

Some books I checked out at Times bookstore :)

Waiting for the train :)

Perfume Selection at Watsons (Women's fragrances only. Men's fragrances are on the other side)

Shopping at Sephora!

Urban Decay :)

Soap & Glory

Perfume Gift Sets :)
Now, onto the haul!

FROM THE BODY SHOP

Bath Lily, $6.90
When I first thought of getting a bath lily from The Body Shop, I didn't really care about what colour it will be. But when I entered the shop and saw it in this pretty lilac shade, I knew I had to have it in that colour.

Chocomania Lip Butter, $10.90
I initially wanted to get the Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter, but the smell of the pink grapefruits was too strong for me, so I decided to get the Chocomania one :)

Moringa Body Mist, $19.90
I'm not sure if it's just this particular scent or if the same throughout the whole body mist range, but this lasts super long despite being a body mist. I sprayed it on my wrist while at the shop and I could still smell it a couple of hours later!

Vitamin E Eye Cream, Original price $28.90. Due to an ongoing sale, I got $10 off
This is the product that caused me to head over to The Body Shop. If you read my updates I post here, you will know that I really want an eye cream. I decided I should start out with this one. Will do a review on it after I finish it?

FROM TIMES

Assassin's Creed The Secret Crusade Book, $19.25
Not many people know, but I'm a huge Assassin's Creed fan. When I saw the Assassin's Creed books at Times, I knew I was going to get at least one. Besides The Secret Crusade, there also was Forsaken, Renaissance and Revelations. I know it won't be long till I own them all :3

The Secret Crusade: The untold story of Altair - the Master Assassin
FROM SEPHORA

Mini Soap & Glory Flake Away and The Righteous Butter, $7 each
I decided to try out Soap & Glory's body scrub and butter. Each mini tub contains 50ml of product. If I like the products (which I probably will), I intend on getting the full size tubs, which each cost $25 for 500ml (I think) of product. I initially wanted to get body scrubs and body butters from The Body Shop, but they each cost $30.90 for only 200ml. I will probably just get one tub of The Body Shop's body butter just to compare it with Soap & Glory's and I might do a review on which I prefer, or on the pros and cons of each brand.

Soap & Glory Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths, $10
I usually use cleansing wipes from Nivea, but decided to give these a go. According to the back of the packaging, it says it cleanses and tones the face, and if you add a bit of pressure, it will exfoliate your face. Regular use 'might make your pores shrink!*'. When they say shrink, they mean ''visually' shrink'.

Sephora Refillable bottle with funnel, $3
I got this for school use. I intend on pouring my Victoria's Secret's body mist inside, so I can bring it to school in a smaller bottle compared to the original bottle

FROM WATSONS

Britney Spears Radiance EDP, Original price $89, got it 20% off
If you guys saw my fragrance wants post, you will know this was one of my wants. Super happy I finally got it :)

FROM JOHN LITTLE

Fuso Nail Enamel in 90, $2.80
This nail polish was originally tagged as $4, but when scanned at the cashier it turned up as $2.80. Anyways, I fell in love with the colour of it, it's like a pretty spring/summer green! :)

April Favourites :)

I know it's been a while since I've done a monthly favourites post, but hopefully I can get back into the routine of doing one every month :)

  • Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Polish in 340 Mint Sorbet
This is a super pretty mint green that I've been wearing really often. In fact it's currently the colour of my toe nails! :)

  • Maybelline Volume Express Turbo Boost Mascara
I've been using this mascara the most lately (when I do wear mascara). It's not as pigmented as my previous mascara I was crazy over, Benefint's "They're Real", which is the main reason why I started using this one instead. As I'm a lot busier now, I find myself hardly wearing mascara. When I do, I'm wayyyyyyy to lazy to take the time to remove every single bit of it from my eye lashes, and the fact that my favourite mascara is super pigmented didn't help. So this mascara is perfect for someone with a busy lifestyle. Just a few strokes of this and my eye lashes are longer and more volumised. The more coats you add, the thicker and darker they become. It's also really easy to remove, unlike "They're Real". I admit I will go back to "They're Real" but only during the holidays maybe?, when I have extra time to waste. But for now, Maybelline's Volume Express Turbo Boost mascara is my go-to mascara.

  • Bun Maker
I got this from Cotton On for about $5 and I've been loving the style of buns this bun maker can produce. I really like the look of a big ballerina bun right at the crown of the head, and with this I can easily recreate it. :)

  • Refillable Perfume Spray Bottle
This is basically a refillable purse spray that is also aircraft approved.  You can refill any perfume you want inside it as long as the original perfume bottle comes with a removable nozzle. It's a handy little bottle that I bring to school. Inside, I refilled it with Taylor Swift's "Wonderstruck". I can easily whip this out after PE or when I want to freshen up throughout the long day in school. The little bottle came in various Justice League character designs. I chose Batman to match my Batman hoodie :p but I'm thinking of purchasing another one, either Cat Woman or Wonder Woman, so that I can place that in my 'going out' bag. It is $14.90 per bottle at Guardian.

  • New Look Wallet
Nothing much to say about this wallet. It's just that it's been a while since I used a short wallet, as I'm usually used to really long and bulky wallets. I love the cute bow on the front of it, it makes the wallet look extra girly. I bought it for $16.90 at New Look.

  • Suave Detangling Spray
I've really been taken care of my hair lately. Usually when I come out of the shower, I will just comb through my towel dried hair with a wide tooth comb. When I encounter a knot, I would just use all my strength to try and break the knot, and this isn't very good for my hair. It causes heaps of breakage. I decided to start using this detangling spray I bought a while back. Even though it is technically for kids, it does the job for my hair. With it, combing through my still damp is a lot easier. I got mine at $5.90 from a discounted outlet.

So these are the stuff I've been loving over the month of April. I'll try to try new products this month so hopefully this month's favourites would be more interesting. Now, if you'd excuse me, I have to get back to my current favourite past-time...

Yupp, I'm on Fragrantica again ^^

Weekly Update: 3 May 2013

Hey hey!

This week has been a breeze with us having Wednesday off due to Labour Day. Yay!
The start of the week was also okay. Even though we started on a new topic for A-Maths, I understand it and can even do the problem sums! Double yay! However when we came back on Thursday after the day off, I couldn't concentrate at all as I felt really tired :(

Anyways, enough about school! I plan to The Body Shop tomorrow. I intend on getting an eye cream as I feel that it's time I take better care of the skin around my eyes. I constantly rub eyes, which pulls the skin around my eyes. And I am definitely not looking forward to wrinkles around my eyes if I carry on with this habit. I also have really bad (in my opinion) eye bags. No matter how much sleep I get, they always appear dark. I'm hoping the eye cream I'm getting will help in brightening the area. I'm also planning on getting some other products for my face and body, but I won't be buying them tomorrow.

Also, I'm back on Twitter! Follow me at @myhellonearth23 . I'll try to tweet as often as possible, I know I'm really bad at tweeting on the go! But hopefully tomorrow I'll tweet as I'm out.

So I guess that's it for this week's update :)

xoxo
