I heard that recently fake MAC products are getting more and more common :O And most of the time people purchase them without realising that they are knock-offs. Obviously, the best way to ensure that what you are purchasing is 100% authentic MAC or whatever brand for that matter is to buy it from their actual stores, online or licensed sellers. Most fake products are sold on eBay from people without registration, so you have no idea whether the item is truly authentic :( A friend of mine recently purchased fake MAC products with include a FAKE BRUSH SET, a FAKE WONDER WOMAN BLUSH (the seller also sold fake wonder woman eye shadows but my friend didn't get them) and A FAKE LADY GAGA VIVA GLAM EYE SHADOW. If you guys were wondering how I knew they were fake, continue to read :)
Okay, first, the fake brush set. The brush set consists of 5 brushes and costs $15 (SGD) Converted, it is roughly $12 USD or around £8 GBP or $11 AUD. Seeing this, you can tell it's a fake. The price of ONE MAC brush does not even come close to this, let alone a set of five -.- Next, the brushes included in the set. Below is a picture of the set.
As you can see, they are not even numbered according to the numbers MAC labels their brushes with. And in case you guys didn't know, I visit the MAC frequently, AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN EYE SHADOW SPONGE APPLICATOR ON THE SITE. -.- Fail. When they arrive on my friend's side, I will borrow them and most likely do a video so you guys can see the differences between the authentic MAC brushes and this fake set -.- Also, this came in many colours like black, pink, gold and transparent. -.- She also had another type of 'MAC' brush set, which had transparent handles, and these cost more as she claimed they were 'limited edition' -.- Here they are :
Next, the fake wonder woman blush. The seller didn't provide really clear pictures, so I couldn't really tell if this particular blush my friend got was fake or not, but judging by the other stuff, it's most probably fake. The seller sold a normal MAC blush, the ones that are permanent on the MAC site. But the ones she had came with a small brush and a mirror. FAKE!!! And her wonder woman eye shadow was even worst *eye roll* I'm sure you guys know that MAC eye shadows are flat and never have that 'dome' shape, not like Coastal Scents type. And also, the Wonder Woman eye shadow palette looks like this
Last, the Lady Gaga Viva Glam eye shadow. After doing some research, I found that this product never really existed in MAC. That's why it is important to Google stuff up before purchasing it. However, do correct me if I'm wrong about this, because I found all this info on Google, but personally, I thought Viva Glam was lip sticks and lip glosses. So these people are just trying to use the Viva Glam name to sell their fake products, which really sucks because the money you send on an AUTHENTIC VIVA GLAM is donated to the MAC AIDS fund to help people with HIV AIDS. So if you buy a fake Viva Glam, you're mean :( So don't be mean :) Anyways, I don't have any picture of this fake eye shadow because the seller took it down as 'all pieces of the eye shadow have been sold, and we can't bring in more as it is limited edition :D' -.-" Anyways, when the items arrive, I will do a video for you guys okay? :)
